Leaves: Green; alternate, lanceolate with prominent midvein.
Flower Color: Yellow flower heads up to 4 inches wide, single radiate heads; few to many flower heads, fruit an achene.
Flowering Season: June to October.
Elevation: 5,000 to 6,000 feet.

Habitat Preferences: Dry slopes, mesas, sandy soil.

Recorded Range: In the United States, Badlands Mule-Ears is found in the west in AZ, CO, MT, NM, UT and WY, primarily in AZ, UT and WY. In Arizona it is found in the northern part of the state.
